Handling and Lifting of steel is a critical part of the steel fabrication process and to improve this CQ Steel Industries undertook an upgrade of its Lifting equipment. The 10 year old Overhead crane was removed and replaced with 2 new Kone 10 Tonne Overhead cranes. Also 4 new jib cranes with a 500kg hoist were installed to provide localised lifting in the 6 fabrication work bays.

Safety is improved through the cranes modern control system which provide smooth operation while hoisting and travelling with loads. The lifting upgrade also provides workers increased access to mechanical lifting aids during the fabrication process. Productivity is improved through reduced waiting time during high volume work periods allowing CQ Steel Industries to meet our customers delivery schedules.
